We are pleased to announce that we have successfully been approved some funding from the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment PGF Fund to begin a small renovation on the Marae.
What renovations will be done?
We will be conducting an upgrade of the Marae roof (no more leaks!), kitchen and back kitchen and a full renovation of the shed out the back.
When will the renovation start?
To complete the works before next winter, we will be starting the renovation on Monday 23 November 2020 and be completed by the end of March 2021. You can expect to see the builder, painter, electrician, and roofing guys onsite most days Monday to Friday.
Will the renovation affect marae bookings?
Most of the renovation will not impact your ability to book or use the marae, however there may be odd day’s when the builder is working in the kitchen. For now, please contact us directly if you want to book the marae via our email address terawhiti439marae@gmail.com.
What do you need to be aware of?
The trustees must run the renovation project in accordance with Health and Safety laws. This means that Health and Safety processes will be actively managed each day. Everyone will be required to sign in and out and will be briefed on the work being conducted that day. We will also be restricting access to areas that the trades will be working so please bear with us. Also, please talk to your whanau so that they are aware of the likely hazards occurring during this time and that trades people will be working in multiple spaces.
