TRAINER  GROUP AWAY TO  TIRITIRI MATANGI

During our rather lengthy meeting yesterday, I did the karakia for the team of  trainees who have started on their journey to Tiritiri Matangi n the first lap of the translocation of nga manu from there.

Blandy Witehira, Arana Rewha, Alvin Rewha, Rob McPherson and BJ.  My mokopuna Teina was unable to go this trip as he was injured in an unprovoked assault on the eve of their departure…nga manaakitanga ki a ia …ka nui taku aroha ki taku mokopuna a Teina..kia piki te ora piki te kaha piki te maramatanga ki runga ki a ia…

They will stay the night and embark on the boat for Tiritiri Matangi the next morning cross over  Gulf Harbour to their destination where they will stay at the bunkhouse.

There are 15 total in the team, the others being arranged by KevinParker, scientist/helicopter pilot.   All going well, our boys will return Wednesday/Thursday (weather dependent (sp?) while the rest of us will be gearing ourselves up for the marae powhiri, timed for 10 am Saturday, followed by a cup of tea and then embark on our respective boats.

We will all be advised of the procedure after the powhiri so that everyone is in the loop. Richard Robbins will be monitoring the numbers for the boats for the 3 destinations and at this point, I do not know what the maximum number is for each boat, but no doubt, he will inform us within the next few days.

No reira e te whanau, noho ora mau kotou i roto i nga manaakitanga a to tatou Matua-nui-i-te-Rangi ,  Arohanui na te kuia nei.
