Project Island Song Workshop – 17th October

By October 5, 2011 No Comments

With the summer season rapidly approaching and the threat of rats reaching the islands again,  it’s a good time to bring everyone living out on the pest-free islands of Ipipiri up-to-date with Project Island Song progress.

You are invited to a practical workshop to share ideas and ways of keeping the islands pest-free.

Monday 17 October 2011
3.00pm to 4.30pm
Café, Otehei Bay, Urupukapuka Island

A range of topics will be covered including:

  • Project Island Song progress
  • Rat/stoat trap and tracking demonstrations
  • A rodent dog display
  • A BBQ and the chance to meet other island property owners, managers and caretakers.

To help with catering numbers, please RSVP by Friday 14 October 2011 to Helen Ough Dealy hodealy@doc.govt.nz or ph. 09-403 9006.

Please remember we can do a rodent dog check on any large consignments of goods that you may be sending to the islands e.g. building materials, landscaping supplies, bulky stores etc.. Any of these may be suitable for rats or mice to stowaway in.

If you would like a rodent dog check., please contact Angela Newport anewport@doc.govt.nz or ph. 09-407 0303.
